COOL HAND LUKE (1967) Drama, 126 minutes, Directed by Stuart Rosenberg, Written by Donn Pearce. (Starring Paul Newman, George Kennedy, J.D. Cannon)
This is one of my all-time favorites. It's a classic. Paul Newman is fantastic. I think the reason I like this movie so much is because it's built around the acting. It isn't a big budget film. And it doesn't depend on special effects or a gruesome monster or villain. It's a great story line and I really love it when an actor totally gets into his character. That's what Paul Newman does in this movie, and it's what really makes it a classic in my mind. This is a perfect movie for me at home on a lazy afternoon or a quiet evening. I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't ever seen it. Rent it, or catch it on one of the classic movie channels.
Yea okay Emil. This feels like kind of a try-hard favorite movie pick; savvy movie-goers from 1989+ birth year know that old ass movies like this are probably pretty bad.
Interesting problem; you made the major leagues in MLB but you were never really anyone's favorite player; does that make you want to stand out more in anyway possible (i.e. these movie reviews??). Listen Emil I just don't think it's going to happen for you, movie reviews-wise
