Christmastime is here - just how often do the Steelers beat the Browns in December?

We all know that the original version of the Cleveland Browns took stock of their lot in life a long time ago and decided it would be better to live in freaking Baltimore; the Cleveland Browns as we know them now have only existed since ~1999. In the spirit of the holidays, just how has the browns-steelers rivalry played out in December?

1999September 12Steelers
43–0
Cleveland Browns Stadium

Right off the bat I'm not exactly talking about December but LOL, remember this game? Drew Carey running around like he's the freakin' mayor of Cleveland, 43-0 couldn't have happened to a better guy. What a schmuck.

Browns QB = Ty Detmer

2005
December 24Steelers
41–0
Cleveland Browns Stadium
This game bore the James Harrison tackling a Browns fan, and thank goodness he did. That drunken jagoff is probably banned from Cleveland Browns Stadium for life, and I can think of no better random act of kindness to perform for a stranger than to ensure they will never have to watch the Browns in person again

Browns QB = Charlie Frye, just a kid from Akron

2006
December 7Steelers
27–7
Heinz Field
"Willie Parker sets the alltime Stillers single game rushing record with a 223 yard performance". Kind of surprised that's all it took to set the record, that said he probably sat the entire 4th quarter in this miserable Cleveland performance.

Browns QB = probowler Derek Anderson

2008
December 28Steelers
31–0
Heinz Field
Another big game for Fast Willie Parker, 116 yards and a score on 23 carries. To be fair the Browns were going through a rebuilding year in 2008.

Browns QB = Pittsburgh Kid Bruce Gradkowski; hashtag we're all just a kid from somewhere

2009

December 10
Browns
13–6
Cleveland Browns Stadium
Take it away wikipedia: "The Browns defeated the Steelers for the first time since 2003 in what was called the coldest game in the history of the rivalry with a windchill of 10 degrees below zero. They would give Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger only his second loss to an Ohio-based NFL team in his home state of Ohio after his team lost in Cincinnati earlier on in the same season."

National sports media loves to talk about Ben Roethlisberger's record in the state of Ohio. Its immaculate. Talk about a guy who makes good despite questionable roots, finds success outside of his miserable home state of Ohio and never looks back. LeBron could learn a thing or two from large Benjamin...

Browns QB = Brady Quinn, who went 6-19 for 90 yards. How the hell did we lose this game. I also think I watched this one at a Columbus area Donato's pizza and got barked at by a bunch of drunken morons

2011

2011December 8Steelers
14–3
Heinz Field
Score one for the good guys. Browns QB = Colt McCoy, LOL

2012

December 30Steelers
24–10
Heinz Field
I probably took a nap during this game. The Browns are f#$%ing abysmal. Big Ben went 15/23 for 134 yards and 3 scores. What a treasure.

Browns QB = Thaddeus Lewis, hahaha

2013

December 29Steelers
20-7
Heinz Field
Take it away ESPN "

Steelers drub lifeless Browns but fall short of playoffs"

hilarious. Antonio Brown eclipsed 5 catches 50 yards in this one.

Browns QB = Jason Campbell, I forgot about this guy...

Takeaways

Steelers are about a million-1 verse Cleveland in the month of Christmas. The city of Cleveland borderline can't support human life for ~5 months a year due to decimating coldness. Drew Carey is a buffoon.

Some other fun facts from this wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browns%E2%80%93Steelers_rivalry

  • "While Browns fans still consider the Steelers as their main archrival, a small(sic) number of Steeler fans consider their rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens the spiritual successor to this rivalry due to Art Modell moving his franchise to Baltimore and establishing the expansion Ravens. " such a slap in the face. Love it.
  • "The Three Rivers Jinx. When the Steelers moved to Three Rivers Stadium in 1970, they defeated the Browns 16 straight times before the Browns finally broke through with a win in 1986. The Browns eventually went on to post a miserable all-time mark (5-24, .172) at the stadium from 1970-2000." ok, so maybe 3 Rivers was just a tough place to play. What about the next one?
  • "At Heinz Field (opened 2001), the Steelers lead 15-1. Since the 1970 merger, the Browns are 6-41 at Pittsburgh." oh. That's worse than their record under the 3 rivers jinx...
  • Well that's not fair. How did the Browns fare at home? "At Cleveland Browns Stadium (opened 1999), the Steelers lead 11-4." Oh. Ok. Well I mean they did have to play their home games & live in Cleveland Ohio....

Cleveland still sucks XD
