Emil Brown reviews movies for the 2006 Kansas City Royals

I came across a pretty incredible internet nugget while looking for pictures of Emil Brown. Did you know that in 2006, as a member of the Kansas City Royals, Emil Brown was tasked with reviewing movies in a 3 part series called Movie Talk with Emil Brown? Here's an example from the time Emil Brown watched "Thank You For Smoking":

"THANK YOU FOR SMOKING (2005) Comedy, Rated R for language and some sexual content, 92 minutes, Directed by Jason Reitman, Written by Jason Reitman and Christopher Buckley. (Starring Joan Lunden, Eric Haberman, Cameron Bright) I'm not a huge fan of political movies, but I'm OK with this one. One of the reasons I liked this movie was because it leaves all the decisions up to us. It was about making a choice -- do you want to smoke, or not? It's not our fault that people are getting cancer from smoking. We're not being forced to buy tobacco products. It was a decent comedy. It had me laughing. It was a real easy movie to watch. You just have to have an open mind when you watch it. It will keep you interested, though. The ending was kind of predictable. That was the only thing that I didn't care for. But it was worth my money to see it."

I saw this movie in the mid 2000's, and i have to say, the substance of this review is spot on. The attitude with which Emil Brown approaches the problem of reviewing movies for Kansas City Royals fans is perfect, and I love the fact that every movie in this series explains WHY the movie got the rating it got. A+ stuff by the 2006 KC Royals relations department. We will never be Royals indeed
